When Sally, the Baby Sunfish, discovers a monster lurking in the shadows of the night, she hurries to seek comfort in her mother who, having had a long and tiring day, waves her off lightly. Alone and afraid, Sally cringes and weeps. Her little trembles awaken her grandfather. Acknowledging that her fear is real, Grandpa seeks to find out what this scary shadow truly is.
