Mandarin Chinese Reading Practice

While studying Chinese in Beijing, reading short stories in Mandarin really helped me improve my language skills. Reading short stories will help you recognize and learn new characters, understand grammar structure, and improve your overall language skills. Use this resource along with oral practice to experience the most effective results. 

There is a large lack of accessible reading material targeted towards people learning Mandarin, therefore, I have decided to put together a collection of short stories to help you achieve your goal of mastering this tough language. I have not written the ‘Hanzi’ text myself (which is put together from various online sources), however, these stories have really helped me while studying the language, and I’m sure you will benefit as well. 

This book is mainly for beginners with a basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese characters. This book is the first of three compilations, each moving from a beginner level, to intermediate, and finally an advanced level.
