Maddox stood at the door, hesitating before he knocked. He would be staying in this house with a human woman while he worked with the wardens. No one had told him anything about her except that her name was Opal, and her husband had recently died. When he finally knocked, and she opened the door, he caught his breath. He intended to make this woman his, human or not.
