He was one of the most prominent religious leaders in the United States during the mid- to late-19th century. These sermons were delivered by him in the Brooklyn Tabernacle, and first published in 1886. It includes 27 addresses, including: Why are Satan and Sin permitted?, Tobacco and Opium.
