Ulysses
Publisher Description
Ulysses is a modernist novel by Irish writer James Joyce. It was first serialised in parts in the American journal The Little Review from March 1918 to December 1920, and then published in its entirety by Sylvia Beach in February 1922, in Paris. It is considered to be one of the most important works of modernist literature, [1] and has been called "a demonstration and summation of the entire movement". [2] "Before Joyce, no writer of fiction had so foregrounded the process of thinking". [3] However, even proponents of Ulysses such as Anthony Burgess have described the book as "inimitable, and also possibly mad".

Greatest Story Ever Told
This is the book that single-handedly created 20th century literature at the same time as it destroyed, made obsolete, reduced to rubble roughly 3000 years of world literature and managed to put the idea of writing as a form of art in question. Just as you need to study WW1 to understand our current world better, so you need to read Joyce’s Ulysses, to understand who you are and why you are the way you are. ..
