The only thing steamier than a one-weekend affair is one that stretches for 28 years. When Mallory first meets Jake at her brother’s 1993 bachelor party, neither can possibly imagine the future they’ll share. All they know is that their chemistry is electric. Although life leads them in very separate directions, their romance remains so powerful that they return to it one precious weekend a year—even as the pressures of family and marriage (to a presidential candidate, no less!) dramatically raise the stakes. Queen of the romantic beach read Elin Hildebrand grabbed us with feelings of passion, yearning, and inner conflict. The island of Nantucket becomes a character in and of itself through Hildebrand’s lush descriptions of the sandy beaches Mallory and Jake walk on together and the salty breezes that soothe their nerves. Narrator Erin Bennett’s expressive voice is a perfect fit for this provocative summer listen. You may need to fan yourself when 28 Summers heats up, but be sure to bring some tissues for its heart-wrenching conclusion.

Made me cry 😢 At The End 😢😢😢
I very much enjoy Elin Hilderbrand as an author, and this book is no exception. A little formulaic, perhaps a bit far fetched, but a really good listen nonetheless. Definitely kept my attention all the way through and, boy oh boy, did I cry at the end….😢. If you are an Elin H. fan, you will most likely enjoy this one….☺️

I wanted so much to like this book however I read/listen to escape everyday life. So disappointed with the way the characters were led and also the ending. Wasted time.
