I implemented the 5 second rule, right after reading this book. It's helped me to work on the little things in my life. I'm dealing with my messy desk instead of surfing the web. I'm cooking earlier and feeding my family in a timely fashion. I'm decluterring my house which I totally gave up on years ago. I'm returning phone calls, I'm starting to sort through my bills and finances. I'm tackling those "little" things that bring so much stress to my life. If you are tired of being tired and need a re-boot, I highly recommend this book. I'm listening to it a third time!

I’ve read a lot of business books and books about personal growth. But Mel’s book is different. From her own personal story, she shares a journey that changed her life by following her five second rule. She didn’t stop there, she went to many experts to understand why it works. Then she took our stories - people that have been changed by this rule, to share relevant ways it’s helped so many others. I first saw a social post about it earlier this year. I thought, hey, simple idea, kind of funny, seems overly simplistic, but, I’ll give it a shot. I was also struggling by hitting the alarm three times each morning. Been doing that for 20 years. Recently, after covid shutdown hit, I put on 15 pounds too and my business was about half of what I projected for the year. I started using the rule to get up without snoozing, then I started working out daily even when I didn’t want to, and then I stopped worrying and started taking action in many other areas. And, you know what... I changed. I feel better in the mornings, I lost those 15 lbs and put on muscle, my back stopped hurting, and now business is going great.
