Publisher Description

This landmark book is for those of us who prefer words to equations; this is the story of the ultimate quest for knowledge, the ongoing search for the secrets at the heart of time and space. Its author, Stephen W. Hawking, is arguably the greatest mind since Einstein. From the vantage point of the wheelchair, where he has spent the last 20 years trapped by Lou Gehrig's disease, Professor Hawking has transformed our view of the universe. A Brief History of Time is Hawking's classic introduction to today's most important scientific ideas about the cosmos. It is read here by the Emmy Award-winning host of The Michael Jackson Show on KABC-TV.

Good listen

Really liked the book. The narrator was quite enjoyable to listen to, though he sounded like he could use a break from time to time. Hah.

As far as the subject matter is concerned, it does a decent job at summarizing various theories regarding the existence of our universe, space time, the history behind their development, how physicists have viewed them, how they were developed etc. I actually found the history behind these theories to be more insightful and fascinating rather than the theories themselves. Maybe because I’m a nerd. So if you’re already versed with quantum theory and the state of modern physics, this maybe a little underwhelming considering the hype around it. Otherwise, definitely worth a listen.

Great book

Love the book, but the narrator struggles from time to time.

You won't be disappointed!

I read this book years ago and am enjoying this as a refresher course. It does leave you with a deeper understanding of our world. Narration is well executed if only a tad bit fast for the weighty subject matter. (That may just be my slow ears)
