A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol is a novel by Charles Dickens. Scrooge is a pinching, twisting and greedy old sinner. He despises Christmas and calls it "humbug". The story opens on a cold Christmas Eve in London, seven years after the death of Scrooge's business partner Jacob. At home that night, Scrooge is paid a visit by Jacob's ghost, who is eternally doomed to wander the earth yanking a web of heavy chains behind him, formed during a lifetime of greed and egotism. Scrooge has other meetings with the spirits of Christmas and this slowly changes a miserable man's life for the better… An all-time classic!
