I had no clue what this was about, didn’t even know it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling (or so I’ve heard now). This book had so much hype, I was honestly worried it was just a fad and wasn’t gonna be amazing… BUT!!! This style of writing and how this book made me feel connected to my childhood obsession with fantasy but in a more adult version gave me ALL the feels!! I’m not quite addicted to the characters yet or the “love” but I love the concept of the whole story and can’t wait to see where it goes next and hopefully develop more connections to the characters in the next book. I haven’t been this excited about a series in a LONG TIME!!! I’m so glad I finally took the plunge and read it.
Very repetitive writing
The story was good but I found the writing to be very distracting. Sara J Mass reused the same phrases “clinched jaws”, “low growls”, “taste of bile in my throat” OVER AND OVER THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BOOK! It just got old after a while.
