Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Jude Deveraux will capture your heart with this miraculous time slip romance between a modern woman and a literal knight.

Dougless Montgomery has tried everything to achieve the perfect balance between self-sufficient and sexy, independent and agreeable—exactly the kind of girl she thinks a man would want. Still, she finds herself weeping upon a cold tombstone in an English church, rejected and abandoned by her boyfriend on a vacation she planned. Suddenly, Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck appears before her but according to his tombstone, he died in 1564.

Despite their shock and the countless differences between a 20th-century girl and a 16th-century nobleman, Dougless and Nicholas are drawn together by a bond that defies reason. Dougless has finally found what she’s been searching for: someone who does not seek to change her, who finds her perfect, fascinating, just as she is.

But neither is prepared for the strength of their ties to the past…or the grand adventure that lies before them. Hailed worldwide as one of the most romantic novels of all time, A Knight in Shining Armor is “the epitome of every woman’s fantasy” (Daily Herald, Chicago).

Great story, challenging narrator.

Great story, well written and a definite page turner. The ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the narrator. Maybe it should have been a female because when the male narrator speaks in the voice of the main character, it just sounds awful. She always sounds silly and childish and honestly, dumb - for lack of a better word. :( It was distracting, I was unable to really, truly root for her as a result.

I don’t recommend

Douglass is a cry baby. It’s not nearly as good as it was described.

FANTASTIC AUTHOR - FAVORITE AUTHOR

This was the 1st book I read by Jude Deveraux. I was hooked and since been a fan of all her books. I’ve read this book multiple times over the years. Over time I began reading less finding it hard to hold books due to my disability. Being a huge book lover, I was thrilled to discover audio books….I hadn’t picked up a book in years and I greatly missed them. I love all books of different kinds and I’m grateful that audiobooks has reconnected me especially with my favorites. With all that being said, I did find the male narrator a dull and flat. But I wonder why a male narrator was used when the main character is female. Found it a bit odd and sometimes a little discouraging to really get into the story. A female should have been used, just makes sense to me….in my opinion. All in all it is really a fantastic book to read which is why I gave a 5 star rating. If I could rate the narrator the I would give a lower rating but I still would highly recommend this book to all those book lovers out there.
