Publisher Description
From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Meghan Quinn, comes a witty take on a romantic comedy classic, My Best Friend's Wedding. Steamy, laugh-out-loud, and full of charm, these two best friends heat up the audio while proving true love might be right in front of you.
Have you ever heard of a man-in-waiting?
Yeah, neither has my best friend's soon-to-be monster-in-law. Ooo, sorry, I meant mother-in-law. Nor has she heard of the term, what the bride wants, the bride gets.
With wedding planning underway and a short timeline, my best friend, Lia, has recruited me to help her battle the snarly beast that is Mrs. Beaver. Not scared at all, I accept the challenge as her man-in-waiting--aka, man of honor--and take matters into my own hands.
The only problem is, with every second we draw closer to the wedding, I'm starting to see my best girl in a different light.
She's always been beautiful to me, but now . . . I find myself staring a touch too long. My hand lingering for one more minute. And when she's upset? Allowing her to sleep in my bed.
And before I know what's happening, it hits me like a ton of bricks. I'm in love with my best friend. Not just in love, but infatuated.
No one compares to her and nothing seems to distract me from that realization.
Not the girl I try to date while I help plan Lia's wedding.
Not her angry fiancé who thinks I'm growing too close.
And not the looming deadline of her nuptials.
Which means, there's only one thing left for me to do. Prove to Lia I'm the one she should be with instead. But with the pressure of her engagement, the stress from her soon-to-be mother-in-law, and the breath-stealing nerves running through me, I'm finding it a lot harder to claim the girl than I would like to admit.
Say a little prayer for me . . .

Here comes Breaker!!
Okay, the youngest Cane brother takes the cake!
I listened to Chapter 10, when Breaker realizes that he’s been in love with Lia all this time, twice! His complete and utter freak out about his feelings for Lia and what a spaz he is when they are next together was one of my favorite parts of the book! And then Chapter 13?? FIRE!
A Long Time Coming was the PERFECT friends-to-lovers/best friends story. I absolutely adored how it hit Breaker like a freight train that he had feelings for Lia. And even though he is quite a catch, I loved how insecure he was when it came to whether or not Lia possibly felt the same way about him. And talk about slow burn.... nothing happens between them until after she ends her engagement, so it is a good 80% of the book where the tension is just building and building between them. But the payoff? Oh sweet lord, was it worth it!!
The narration by Erin Mallon and JF Harding was perfect, and I couldn't have loved this book any more!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Soul touching.
This book was not as funny as the other two but it is still good. It is a slower burn and takes a more intimate approach. I think JP’s story was my favorite and I loved that his pigeon obsession carried into this story. I love how close these brothers are and this book just shows how important relationships are.
Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 Lots of Wit, Heart & Steam!
O.M.G., I love, love, loved this book, move over Huxley and J.P. because Breaker just became my favorite Cane brother, sorry, not sorry. Meghan Quinn has outdone herself with the witty, laugh out loud, dialogue in this absolutely delightful romantic comedy. It should come with a warning label stating not to eat or drink while reading or listening to it since there is a risk you may lose it because of spontaneous laughter. Another warnings are one you start you will not want to put it down and that you lose track of everything else going on around you because nothing else matters but what is going on in the book. Ok, I mentioned Breaker is my new favorite Cane brother, but the other two were no slouches in this book either and when the three of them were together it was magical, loved the camaraderie amongst them and the things that come out of their mouths. The Cane women are pretty amazing too, including Orphelia “Lia” who is Breaker’s best friend. I loved the way they first met in the opening scene of the book, a scene that swept me right in to their story and even then I knew it was going to be an exceptional story. A decade later they are still best of friends, even got adjoining apartments and spend as much free time together as they can. When Lia’s boyfriend, Frank, asks her to marry him, she says yes, and she asks Breaker to be his “Man of Honor” he says yes, despite not being very fond of her fiancé. Since Frank is busy working and Breaker in on leave from his job, he joins Lia in the meetings with her future mother-in-law who is planning her wedding, Mrs. Beaver, aka, the Beave, is a real piece of work, pushy and all about impressions so the wedding she is planning is not one that Lia would choose, but she does not like confrontation so she just goes with it, thankfully Breaker stands up for her for some things. Breaker watching her make these plans is stirring up feeling in him and when he sees her in a wedding dress, he realizes he wants to be more than friends and that the person she is marrying is not right for her because he is. I loved how everything played out in this book, the writing and plotting is brilliant and there is a perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, friends to lovers, oh so steamy romance. Meghan Quinn, thank you for another fabulously delightful and most entertaining story, definitely escapism at its finest.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Meghan Quinn cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Erin Mallon and JF Harding are superbly talented voice artists who are in their element with romantic comedies. They set the perfect tone for the story, handle the witty dialogue with ease and land the humor effortlessly without missing a beat. Erin Mallon’s Lia was perfection, she really got her, grasping all sides of her personality and was a natural in that role and it was the same for JF Harding in his role as Breaker, swoon worthy and all. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
