I did it. I admit it.

I fell in love with Silas. My bodyguard. My protector.

My new informant.

We’re playing a cat-and-mouse game. I’m not sure whether I’m the cat or the mouse, but I can definitely tell I’m in a trap.

A trap with no way out.

I’m not who everyone thought I was. The truth is out there, finally turning the lie about me inside out. I am the shameless little lie. It’s finally been revealed, and now even more people want to kill me.

As a presidential campaign hangs in the balance, a delicate web of international relations and economic stability at risk, power becomes more important than anything else.

Even my life.

Especially my life. I’m a nothing. A no one. Just a tool, remember?

But tools can be used to open locks. Cracking open the truth and exposing it could change the balance of power. Tip the scales. Make a presidential campaign turn on a dime.

Too bad Silas doesn’t believe me when I tell the truth.

And that may make him the biggest tool of all.

Mystery or romance?

The author has a way of bringing a scene to life, a gift that brings a 3-D quality to the story lending a richness that enhances the listening experience. I could stand less erotica and more mystery and suspense along with some answers. I had to stop listening twice so that I could go back and check the genre to make sure it was a mystery and not a romance. I am invested in the story after 5 books, and I am hoping that the next one offers up some conclusions.
The one grating thing is the voice of Lily. She is made to sound like a dumb, silly girl from a Scooby Doo cartoon, quite a leap from her voice in her series. Just horrible, in my opinion. Overall, I am enjoying the whole series and look forward to finding out how it ends.
