After eighteen years as a political prisoner in the Bastille the aging Dr Manette is finally released and reunited with his daughter in England. There two very different men, Charles Darnay, an exiled French aristocrat, and Sydney Carton, a disreputable but brilliant English lawyer, become enmeshed through their love for Lucie Manette. From the tranquil lanes of London, they are all drawn against their will to the vengeful, bloodstained streets of Paris at the height of the Reign of Terror and soon fall under the lethal shadow of La Guillotine.
I use this same Penguin Classics book in my English class with the same cover as this audio book and this is definitely not the same as the book. I was trying to read both together and I discovered right off the bat it skips from Ch. 1 to Ch. 3 and there's more skips in paragraphs and stuff. DON'T BUY!!!!
I'm sorry, but it really perturbs me when audiobooks are not labeled as "abridged." I just wasted $10 and I am not happy at all. This audiobook skips paragraphs and entire pages from the book. I will never purchase another audiobook from iTunes, because this has happened too many times before.
Terrible.. I want a refund. It skips all the writing of Charles dickens
The name of this audiobook and picture are terribly wrong
