Publisher Description

The Wilder Brothers from NYT best-selling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continue in this emotionally charged enemies-to-lovers romance.

It took two days for me to know Kendall was the one for me.

And it took two years for me to realize I had to leave in order to protect her.

When I walked away, I told myself it was for the best. But now we work together, and every time we’re in the same room, we end up fighting. If we didn’t, we’d end up naked. Or worse–spilling heartbreaking secrets.

If she knew the truth, she’d either walk away for good or convince me to take a second chance. The first thing would break me, and the second would break her. I can’t let either of those things happen….

So many emotions in this story

Evan and Kendall. Wow. They have such a muddled history. Married. Divorced. Co-workers. Oh, yeah. And now dating. So much has happened in the years since Evan was injured. He's angry and is dealing with his guilt over surviving. In addition, he feels guilty for the way he left Kendall and never explained it to her. But his biggest guilty-ness is the fact that what happened to the wives of his two best friends could've happened to Kendall and he never wants that to happen to her.

Kendall is angry that Evan never explained anything to her. She doesn't understand what went wrong. And she gets really frustrated when he just walks away.

These two are still in love, but how will they overcome their coping mechanisms. OMG and her parents are completely oblivious to her accomplishments and feelings.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are such a great pair of narrators for this book. Especially when Joe says his legendary keyword. That voice is just sinful. I felt Maxine handled this book really well. It's been awhile since I've listened to her so it was a nice reunion for me.
