DUDE.
I adored this book. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I used it as motivation to go on walks and I ended up walking five miles every day because I could not get enough of Nesto and Jude. And I must have looked like a total weirdo to my neighbors, too, because I couldn’t help all the emoting I was doing. I kept laughing out loud, gasping, clutching my chest, shaking my fists, etc. Thank goodness it’s been sunny enough for sunglasses, because this morning I even got all teary-eyed.
As awesome as the book is on its own, the narration elevates it to a whole ‘nother level. I was originally annoyed this book doesn’t come out in print (c’mon, Carina. Get with it), but now I’m gratefuly this was my first exposure to this story. I had to check twice to verify that it was narrated by a single guy. He had so many authentic distinct voices for everyone I was *sure* it had to be more than one person. And then I had to check and make sure the rest of the series was narrated by the same guy. He’s just so freaking good. And they way he expresses emotion thorugh his voice felt so authentic - all the character’s feelings just went straight to my gut.
I’m a little bummed the story is over, but I can’t wait to get to the others in this series. I’m going to have a serious book hangover when I’ve downed all four. Congrats, Adriana Herrera and Sean Crisden - this was phenomenal.
Another love story.
This novel touches beautifully on so many heartfelt and emotional health and humane topics without being overly touchy or socially awkward. A love story of two people whom couldn’t have been different and yet very same in the love they share and want for their future.
Touches on the bad and good of families and faith dynamics. Tasteful but descriptively vivid romantic moments shared which touches on the passion of new lovers. Good read.
