Only feelings of sunk cost kept me listening.
Books 1-2 were medium OK. This one fell apart and did not redeem itself or the series. If the audience is eager for high sci-fi concept, just nope out now. This is a sour ex-military boomer trying to live his lost tactical combat fantasies. The unending, pointless fight scenes felt like narration of a Call Of Duty campaign with an alien DLC. It could be fun as a drinking game. I dare you to count the repetitions of generic catch-phrases and out-of-place movie references. I feel dumber having finished it.
