***This Special Anniversary Edition Includes the Bonus Story: Walker's Love Connection***

Eighteen-year-old Myla Lewis is a girl who loves two things: kicking ass and kicking ass. She’s not your every day quasi-demon, part-demon and part-human, girl.

For the past five years, Myla has lived for the days she gets to fight in Purgatory’s arena. When souls want a trial by combat for their right to enter Heaven or Hell, they go up against her, and she hasn’t lost a battle yet.

But as she starts her senior year at Purgatory High, the arena fights aren’t enough to keep her spirits up anymore. When the demons start to act weird, even for demons, and the King of the Demons, Armageddon, shows up at Myla’s school, she knows that things are changing and it’s not looking good for the quasi-demons. Myla starts to question everything, and doesn’t like the answers she finds...

What happened seventeen years ago that turned the quasi-demons into slave labor? Why was her mom always so sad? And why won’t anyone tell her who her father is? Things heat up when Myla meets Lincoln, the High Prince of the Thrax, a super sexy part-human and part-angel demon hunter. But what’s a quasi-demon girl to do when she falls for a demon hunter? It’s a good thing that Myla’s not afraid of breaking a few rules. With a love worth fighting for, Myla’s going to shake up Purgatory.

Great Story & Listen🎧 Fascinating & Action-Packed!

This is my first book written by Christina Bauer and consider me wowed, it is an amazing fantasy, paranormal young adult romance that is captivating from start to end. The world building and character development is fantasy’s as is the introduction to the unique characters and different paranormal beings, angels, demons, ghouls and the hybrid mixes, the quasi-demons and half-angels. The lead character, Myla, is a quasi-demon, living in Purgatory, a high school senior who gets called out to fight in the Purgatory arena, something she looks forward to and is good at, so good she is undefeated. Who does she fight, souls fighting for their right to enter heaven or heII, and each fight is unique, but she is fearless. Her mom, who is prominent in their society, is overprotective and worried about her. She does not know who her father was, and she is questioning her mom about him. Other than all that, she is your typical teenager, has a bestie who has her back, deals with some bullies, who think they are the elite and she has a crush on someone she shouldn’t, Lincoln, who is a half-angel and an unlikely ally. Things are heating up in Purgatory and Armageddon, the leader of the demons is making a power play. There is never a dull moment in this fascinating and cleverly plotted story, it has the perfect balance of drama, angst, wit, action, twists and turns, some thrilling and exciting moments, heartfelt emotions and a young love romance. Christina Bauer, thank you for this wonderfully imaginative and entertaining story. Thanks for the special treat and bonus chapters in this anniversary edition, happy tenth publiversary!

🎧📚🎧 And for the audiobook narration, I was hesitant after seeing that the author narrated her own book, sure who knows the characters better than the author, but can she pull off a professional narration without sounding like a librarian reading a book to kids at story time, and for a fourteen plus hour book the concern is real. Well, no worries, Christina Bauer did a fabulous job not only voicing her characters but humanizing them, too. She gave each character their own unique voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. She chose voices that fit each character’s persona perfectly and was believable in every role she played. The quality of her performance and the audio were top-notch, and she set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into her performance. Christina Bauer is not only a gifted author, she is a versatile voice artist and an entertaining storyteller that is a pleasure to listen to.  Thanks again!
