Publisher Description

Animal Farm is a satirical allegorical novella by George Orwell, first published in England on 17 August 1945. The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon

Read by an AI Robot - the irony is very Orwellian

If you like AI reading to you, then you….are…in…for…a…treat. The voice is pleasant and overall it is tolerable. The irregularities in rhythm, awkward pauses mid-sentence, occasional mispronunciations, and awkward annunciations are flaws I was notable to get used to. Probably the most awkward thing is that any hyphen is read by the robot as the word “minus”. There are a lot of hyphens and hyphenated words in this book, so you’ll hear the word “minus” spoken quite often in very awkward and seemingly random places. The best part about an AI robot reading an Orwell Book, particularly this one, is the irony. I wonder what Orwell would think. To me, AI robots are the new farm animals that will be rebelling against Mr. Jones and humanity very soon. “Four legs good, two legs bad” is now “semiconductors good, flesh and blood bad”.
