After suffering a horrific injury that threatens to end his career, Baden Oulett is about to learn that sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered.
I worked my whole life to achieve one goal - play professional hockey. As part of the defending Cup champion Arizona Vengeance, I was living my dream - until one split-second decision destroyed it all. Instead of lacing up my skates and hitting the ice, I’ve spent my days in rehab and physical therapy just so I could walk again. When a coaching opportunity with the Pittsburgh Titans is presented to me, I find myself with a career I had never considered but which allows me to continue being part of the sport that I love.
While my injuries are physical, the same can’t be said for the woman I rescued. Suffering from wounds that can’t be seen, Sophie Winters has withdrawn from the world in fear and guilt. I didn’t know Sophie before that fateful night and have only met her once since, but I refuse to let her face her demons alone. Determined to be a friend, I support Sophie in the only way I know how: by simply being there.
Through our shared trauma, Sophie and I begin to find peace within one another. As we grow closer, what started as friendship becomes more intimate - until our broken pieces become one. But can a love born of anguish endure, or will the pain of our past prove too much to overcome?
Absolutely Love Baden & Sophie
What a wonderful story of two souls brought together by a horrific event. Baden and Sophie are sexy, compassionate and absolutely perfect together. Be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions as Braden & Sophie find their HEA. Great first book in Sawyer's new series, Pittsburgh Titans.
Awesome narration by Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb.
Emotional, positive and beautiful. 5 Stars! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Baden’s story is pretty emotional as he has a big decision to make, once he makes it his life is filled with joy and his future looks bright. Don’t get me wrong… he has hard times to deal with, but each choice brings him closer to his happiness. Sophie is someone who truly thrives once Baden renters her life. This story is so beautiful, emotional and so positive for our girl!
5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!
This book is absolutely amazing, it grabbed not only my attention, but it pulled on my heartstrings like no other. This is a beautifully written story and you can feel the emotions pour off the pages and into your heart. Sawyer Bennett masters sports romance and she is off to a wonderful start with her new series. Baden, a member on the Arizona Vengeance who has been on the sidelines while recovering from the horrific injuries he sustained when he intercepted a crime in progress to save the victim. He almost lost his life and was told he would never walk again, but we watched Baden determined to prove them all wrong, that he would not only walk again but to work his way back on the ice and playing with his team again too. The hockey community suffered a tremendous loss when almost every member of the Pittsburgh Titans perished in a plane crash, it hit close to home for Baden and close to his heart because his best friend was on that plan. A surviving owner of the team wants to put a new team together, and she offers Baden a goalie coaching position. Torn on what to do, leave his team and the chance to get back in the game or try out a new career, he chooses the latter and moves to Pittsburgh. Sophie Winters was never the same after being attacked while in Arizona, she suffers from PTSD and survivor’s guilt knowing the person who saved her almost died and lost the use of his legs. So not only was she shocked that he showed up at her front door, but he did so standing. She had visited him when he was in the hospital, but he was in no state of mind for visitors. Baden and Sophie hit it off right away, he saw her, really saw her, and she saw him. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully plotted story, a slow burn romance that contains a whole lot of heart, hearing what they went thru was heartbreaking, but watching them persevere and heal was heartwarming. This is an amazing story to a new series, I am looking forward to what comes next for the Titans and its players. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another wonderful sport romance novel and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Aiden Snow and Lessa Lamb are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Lessa Lamb nailed it as Sophie grasped her every emotion and had you feeling them, Aiden Snow did the same for Baden. Both were great covering the roles of the secondary characters too. These two mega talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers, their superb performance enhances this already exceptional story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
