Publisher Description

The classic heartwarming tale from Kate DiCamillo--now with an afterword from the beloved author, reflecting on twenty years in print

One summer's day, ten-year-old India Opal Buloni goes down to the local supermarket for some groceries--and comes home with a dog. But Winn-Dixie is no ordinary dog. It's because of Winn-Dixie that Opal begins to make friends. And it's because of Winn-Dixie that she finally dares to ask her father about her mother, who left when Opal was three. In fact, as Opal admits, just about everything that happens that summer is because of Winn-Dixie. This updated edition of Kate DiCamillo's classic novel invites readers to make themselves at home--whether they're experiencing the book for the first time or returning to an old favorite.

A fun book made even better

I read Winn Dixie in English & Spanish when learning Spanish, and lived it.
This version has an important change, a thing which novelists almost never do in a finished published work. But it was wise.
Thanks to a great writer!

Because Of Winn-Dixie

Because Of Winn-Dixie is a great book. It’s about a girl named India Opal Buloni. She finds a mangy mutt strolling at the grocery store and adopts him, as she is lonely and friendless. Her father is the preacher at a local church. She goes through many things with Winn-Dixie, which is what she decides to name him. She learns about her mother from her father. Her mother who she hasn’t seen in forever. Her mother who left right after she turned 3. Winn-Dixie helps her learn that friendship-well, it can sneak up on you like a sudden storm!

This book is out of its pages

When I say this book is “out of its pages “ this book is really “out of this world” I think Kate that you should keep writing because your books are amazing and you inspire me. So keep writing “out of its pages” books.
