Customer Reviews
Extremely, utterly, terribly ... not funny
There is just no way that these short stories are the best of anything. I listened to 75% of this before giving up entirely. I smiled once and never laughed. The rest of the time I sat there wondering how it is that anyone ever thought these stories were at all funny. For example, The frenchmen's water lots is about a frenchman in america who gets greedy, buys land plots that unbeknownst to him were in the middle of a river. He demands a refund, doesn't get it and goes home. It is like these stories were translated from a different language and have completely lost whatever was ever funny about them.
Best american humorous short stories audiobook
While the stories were humorous in a very old-fashioned sense, they were unlistenable because of the narrator's whistling esses!
