Favorite Book

I come back to this book often when I am feeling “stuck”, or otherwise uninspired creatively. If you are looking for a step-by-step for writing though this isn’t the book for you, I suspect that’s what some of the negative reviews are about. This is more of a book about the oh so hard to define “creative process”, with autobiographical elements.

Inspiring and Realstic

Following your curiosity instead of passion spoke to me and made me believe a creative life is in my reach. This book is beautiful, life changing and something I will never forget.

Cringey

I’m about halfway through and it pains me to finish. I was recommended this and despite it being the Eat Pray Love author I gave it a shot. I have basically learned nothing I didn’t already know as a creative. The author is so annoying and it feels as though this book is lacking authenticity and practical knowledge. It doesn’t really feel helpful for me as an artist but might be for someone who is dabbling in creativity and is a stay at home mom or something. I’m irritated I spent money and time digging into it and trying to sit through it and give it a shot. Really just not for me.
