A rogue Russian nuke sails toward the harbors of Los Angeles in the hull of a ramshackle sailboat. More than Fiction!
This book is shockingly good. And if you're a fan of any of the companies or are familiar with any of the personalities behind this book, then the suspension of disbelief is even harder! It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster reading about people you respect and admire going through an extremely plausible end of modern civilization scenario. Makes you want to stock pile freeze dried food, water, and amunition if nothing else!
Worst narrator ever.
Wanted to like the book, But could not get through more than about 10%. The narrator’s meter when reading was all over the place with pauses at odd times and whenever he tried to change voices, he sounded like John C. Reilly talking way too fast. This ultimately made it hard to follow and I found myself repeating the first chapter because I couldn’t follow what was going on.
The narrator can make an okay story great, or a good story miserable. For me, this was the latter.
Didn’t Like. Same old stuff.
First to qualify my review. I’m 9 yr U.S.Army. 13B/11B/95B and a Prepper. I have two ( 18’S ) in my family. One of the main characters in the book ( an 18 SF ) who came across as a knuckle dragging hammer. Every problem was a nail. 18’S are taught from day one to be a multi-tool. ( not a hammer all the time ) I learned nothing from this book. If you want a real good read/ listen look up James W. Rawles you will actually learn things. Yes I’ve been to The piney woods of Bragg
