Brain Damage

Awesome story line. I was always excited for each chapter The great character development and the good people do receive a hopeful ending.

Disappointing !! McFadden fan, but I’ve found there’s a few of her books that are so dumb it’s like it’s someone else writing. I listen to pass the time. It doesn’t take much for me to be interested, and even if a book isn’t that great, I’ll usually finish it. This one though, RIP

I just finished Brain Damage by Freida McFadden, and WOW! What a great psychological thriller!

What really sets this book apart is that so much of the story is told from the patient’s perspective. You’re inside the mind of someone who knows exactly what she wants to say but can’t get the words out. You know what she’s thinking, what she’s feeling, and how frustrating and terrifying it is when the people around her can’t understand her.

I thought that was such a brilliant way to tell the story. It made me feel like I was experiencing everything right along with her instead of just reading about it. There were times I wanted to scream FOR her!

McFadden has a way of making you suspicious of everyone, and this book was no exception. Just when I thought I had things figured out, I started questioning everything again.

I’ve read plenty of psychological thrillers, but the patient’s narrative made this one especially memorable. Such a clever concept, and incredibly well executed.

Definitely one I’d recommend, especially if you love a good psychological thriller that keeps you guessing!
