Great writer, miserable reader.
Did you know that there is a term for that cringe-worthy pronunciation of the words mitten and kitten? It’s called a glottal stop. I’ll be the first to admit that I struggle with this (I feel like there should be a support group for this), but, theoretically a professional reader might be able to overcome this olympian hurdle and pronounce the word “written” correctly.
