If you love serial-killer stories and romantic comedies, then buckle up for this wild, bloody ride. Sloan and Rowan are both serial killers, and they both only kill other murderers. When they meet-cute while pursuing the same target, they decide to turn that accident into an an official yearly game: They compete to reach a selected predator first, and the winner gets to stage the murder scene in their own unique style. The gruesome twosome’s flirty banter and the visceral enjoyment they get out of their contest demonstrate what a great connection they have. But these two products of damaged pasts both have trouble trusting other people and being vulnerable enough to openly admit what they feel. Best Book of 2024 (and it’ll be hard to beat)
I thoroughly, without a doubt loved this book. I have to admit, this is the first “dark” romcom I have read. It may have been slightly traumatizing, all while being highly entertaining (I’ve not laughed out loud this much EVER) and am SO GLAD I listened to it. I can’t wait for the next one.

I’ve never laughed at serial killing so much! Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers are phenomenal narrators and they do not disappoint. I really hope they are back for book 2.
Brynne has an incredible writing style and it’s perfect for people like me with a dark sense of humor. 🤫 I hope there are many more books to come in the future!
