For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him The Fittest (Real) Man in America.
In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40% of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.
An annotated edition of Can’t Hurt Me, offering over two hours of bonus content featuring deeper insights and never-before-told stories shared by David. Not available in other formats.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
David Goggins’ life story began with hardship, struggle, and poverty, but by sheer work ethic and willpower, he succeeded as a Navy SEAL, endurance athlete, and motivational speaker. The personal, raw tone of Can’t Hurt Me sets it apart from most self-help guides. Goggins doesn’t deliver his self-discipline techniques with a cheerleader’s perkiness, but with a toughened veteran’s seen-it-all intensity. Best of all, the audio version of his book features between-chapter bits of Goggins’ hard-won wisdom about life and work; it makes the whole story come across as even more personal and inspirational.
Moving, and inspiring. Must read/listen
Original and emotional!
David’s story is truly amazing. There are a lot of “motivational” books out there and I have read many of them. But this is the real deal. Let’s you KNOW that you have deeper powers. Couldn’t stop listening. Every time I listed to this, it motivated me to be my best. I believe this one actually changed me. If you’re even on the fence about buying this. Just get it.
This is the best book I ever read. I try to explain the book to people and they always ask “why would a person do that?” I get it. But when you strive for more in life and want to “become uncommon among the uncommon”, you see why. I always say “read the book”. He’s the reason I get out of bed and run early in the morning. My alarm goes off and when I go to hit snooze, I see his face on the book and the book is calling me a wimp. Great inspiration to want more out of life. Thank you David.
