Publisher Description

Dr. Peter Blood is arrested and sentenced to hang for treating a wounded rebel. Instead of death, he is sent to Barbados as a slave. When the Spanish attack the port city of Bridgetown, he and his fellow slaves capture the Spanish ship and set out to sea, where he becomes the notorious pirate, Captain Blood. With battles on sea and on land, daring escapes, sword duels to the death, a touch of romance, and a magnificent score by Jeffrey Gage, Captain Blood is a swashbuckling adventure on a very grand scale!

Doesn't get any better

Jerry Robbins and the fine actors at CRT have out done themselves. You are totally involved in the characters and forget for a while it's a radio play. I highly recommend this play for your enjoyment.

Terrific story in serial form!

This is a wonderful story about a wronged man who is wrongly convicted, imprisoned, and then escapes for the life of a pirate! Captain Blood is done with the usual panache that CRT does. When they do a book they are faithful to it! The sound effects are wonderful and the cannon fire especially. The first time I listened to this fantatstic show I almost fleppied over backwards when the first cannon sounded off! This is one of the first CRT productions I ever listened to and I have been a fan ever since! Treat yourself to Captain Blood and set sail!
