“Cash” quickly became one of my favorite enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine romance novels. Jessica Peterson penned another winning novel and an amazing start to her new “Lucky River Ranch” series, and what a story and start it is, one that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. A story with the perfect balance of drama, charming humor and witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance, and super hot and swoon worthy cowboys, too!  Despite being born on a ranch, Mollie is a city girl living in Dallas, where she and her friend started a business selling boots they design. She was six years old when her parents split up and her mother took her to live in the city and she had never returned to the ranch since. When her estranged father passed away and left her the ranch in his will, she only saw dollar signs and money she needed to put into her business. The ranch was three hours away in Hartsville, small town Texas, and the will had a stipulation attached that she would have to live on the ranch for one year. Crazy, a city girl on a ranch, even crazier is the grumpy foreman, Cash, who thought her father was leaving him the ranch as promised, so it surprised him when he learned otherwise. Cash has been the ranch foreman for years, and his younger brothers worked there too. After their parents died in a car crash, it was her father who took them under his wing. His families’ ranch was next door, and could not keep up the ranch when he was young, but dreams of bringing it back to its glory one day. Mollie, needing the cash for her business, opts to live at the ranch until she finds a way out of the stipulation clause and she and Cash continue to bonk heads and it was great to watch these two go at it, both making assumptions, both giving as good as they get. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out. And as always, the writing, plot and world building are phenomenal, as are the character growth and development with both coming a long way by the end. Besides the two amazing lead characters, there are some fabulous secondary/side characters and I am looking forward to their stories and learning more about them in future books. Jessica Peterson, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Stephen Dexter and Lilia Winters were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, and they did a fantastic job portraying them, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as imagined the characters to sound. Dexter nailed it as Cash, starting with his grumpy demeanor, growing along with his character and morphing into something so much more, and a swoon worthy cowboy. Winters was equality amazing in Mollie’s role, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her sass to her insecurities to her strength and determination. Both were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary/side characters too. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two made a great team, with talent and voices that complemented each other and a performance that elevates the already amazing story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
