A companion to Howl’s Moving Castle, Diana Wynne Jones’ Castle in the Air was named an ALA Notable Book and an ALA Best Book for Young Adults. In this sparkling tale, young merchant Abdullah purchases a magic carpet—and soon finds that the enchanted rug is none too agreeable. But despite the carpet’s cranky demeanor, Abdullah must rely on its help to rescue a princess from a wicked djinn.
“A bewitching romp, gratifying to mind, imagination, and funny bone.”—Kirkus Reviews

I read this book at first only for Howl and Sophie. At the beginning I was a little disappointed that this wasn't all about them but I was genuinely surprised how much I liked the story. Diana is a brilliant writer and the narrator is absolutely wonderful! Abdullah was just a wee bit annoying at times but this by no means ruined it.I actually loved how he poetically addressed people. Howl and Sophie are one of my favourite couples and wished there could have been more books written about them and little Morgan. I would love if a movie could be made about this one and the next book. Definitely would recommend this audiobook.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great Story and Narration
Although it is not necessary to read (or listen) to "Howl's Moving Castle" before this book, it will definitely make the story more interesting and enjoyable. This story is very well written, with a complex and humorous plot line, following ideas from Arabian lore. The narration is done extremely well and definitely adds to the story. I would highly recommend this along with "Howl's Moving Castle" and the sequel to this book "House of Many Ways."
