Ideas are like fish.
If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you've got to go deeper.
Down deep, the fish are more powerful and more pure. They're huge and abstract. And they're very beautiful.
I look for a certain kind of fish that is important to me, one that can translate to cinema. But there are all kinds of fish swimming down there. There are fish for business, fish for sports. There are fish for everything.
Everything, anything that is a thing, comes up from the deepest level. Modern physics calls that level the Unified Field. The more your consciousness-your awareness-is expanded, the deeper you go toward this source, and the bigger the fish you can catch.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Much like his movies, TV shows, paintings, and music, David Lynch’s first memoir is a surreal, sometimes dark, yet surprisingly hopeful piece of art. Catching the Big Fish dives right into the fascinating artist’s brain; Lynch reads through each short and punchy chapter with his broad Midwestern accent and boyish enthusiasm. Lynch focuses on how his long-standing practice of transcendental meditation helped guide the creation of cult classics like Eraserhead and Twin Peaks by allowing his mind the freedom to go where it pleased. This will inspire you to experiment with your own creative impulses.

Exquisite
Read by David Lynch himself. Yet another masterwork from the master. Really insightful and inspirational. Must read over and over again.
Lynch voice makes it more magical
This book has waited for me to read it for a long time. But the minutes I started to listen to the audio book, I could not stop.
I was listening and rewinding and listening again and again to go deeper with the text.
Besides amazing content, David Lynch’s voice makes the already magical text even more magical. Highly recommended.
