Publisher Description
Not even Lake Eden’s nosiest residents suspected Hannah Swensen would go from idealistic newlywed to betrayed wife in a matter of weeks. But as a deadly mystery unfolds in town, the proof is in the pudding....
When The Cookie Jar becomes the setting of a star-studded TV special about movies filmed in Minnesota, Hannah hopes to shine the spotlight on her bakery — not the unsavory scandal swirling around her personal life. But that’s practically impossible with a disturbing visit from the shifty character she once believed was her one and only love, a group of bodyguards following her every move, and a murder victim in her bedroom.
Now, swapping the crime scene in her condo for her mother Delores’ penthouse, Hannah and an old flame team up to solve a case that’s messier than an upended chocolate cream pie.
As suspects emerge and secrets hit close to home, Hannah must serve a hefty helping of justice to an unnamed killer prowling around Lake Eden...before someone takes a slice out of her!
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Nobody writes a cozy mystery—one that delivers on both words in that description—like Joanne Fluke. Her heroine, Hannah Swensen, is a small-town baker of delicious treats who just happens to be an amateur detective on the side. After discovering that her husband, Ross—sorry, that’s now ex-husband—was a liar and a phony, Hannah’s trying to get her life back on track. It all seems to be going pretty well, until she finds a dead body in her condo. Suzanne Toren has narrated every single one of Hannah’s mysteries, and her delivery is as warm, soothing, and utterly sensible as we’ve always imagined Fluke’s heroine to be. Make sure you’ve got a nice treat on hand to enjoy with this delightful audiobook.
Customer Reviews
I just listened to her new one, after skipping this one! Now I have to go back!
Even with the bad reviews it must have something helps explain the coconut book!
Trite
We listened to the prologue and chapter 2. We were not able to get past that.
Chocolate cream pie murders
98% of this book is about recipes, discussions about food, and discussions about coffee. There is only 26 chapters. I am on chapter 16...And nothing has happened yet. How this made it into the murder mystery section, and not the cooking section, I have no idea! Complete waste of money!
