Very good book
Excellent Fantasy Romance YA
Alicia Rades carefully intertwines several themes, like good versus evil, teens evolving into young adults, and the relationships between parents and teens. Rades uses these themes to also explore uncomfortable discussion topics, such as attempted sexual assault, parental alcohol usage and its effects, unstable living arrangements through constant moving, and an absentee father. The reader is not bombarded with these themes and topics; rather, the reader is slowly immersed within the characters’ perspectives. I look forward to the next novel in this trilogy.
