Really enjoyed this switch of murder & mystery from this author. This is my 3rd audiobook off this author many collections. Glad i gave it a chance.
No suspense
Not the typical suspense i’m used to. Very slow
PLEASE Proof the Recordings!
Blake Pierce’s audiobooks really need to be “proofed” before they’re released. Yes, the narrator(s) may need to read a phrase or a couple of words over again due to mispronunciation or inflection, however, the original reading is not removed nor recorded over causing the word or phrase to be repeated twice in a row (i.e., “… these places have histories that go beyond archaeological interest.” And then we hear the whole thing a 2nd time!) I can understand once or maybe twice per book, but this book alone has had 7 or 8 (I lost count), and I’m only on Chapter 11. I don’t typically write negative reviews, however, having proofread, typed, and edited books, I’m on the verge of not finishing (the free) Book 1 of the Kari Blackhorse series.
* Update: I decided to finish the book. The repetitive statements continued throughout. In the last chapter one phrase was said three times! That’s a first; but it’s a last for me. I’m not continuing this series.
