Yea, 5 stars!

Ok, so I admit it. I'm a Dean Koontz junkie. I'm looking over the new entries for 2008 and I say "Whoa! That's so cool." I tend to go through one or two books a week, every week, and having all these new Koontz titles is like a gift, (only I have to pay for them). My only (get this, only) criticism of Koontz's books is that sometimes the endings are too abrupt. I wonder if Koontz just gets tired of writing and these charactors and just wanted to wrap it up and get on to something else. But even with that slight critique, I love the journeys that Dean Koontz takes me on. Cold Fire escaped my one slight critique. I loved the book. The journey into the almost unbelieveable far supernatural pulled back just far enough to be completely believeable! The depth of exploration the two main characters had me completely engrossed. Holly Thorn and Ironheart will be with me a long time and I hope there might even be a sequel a la Odd Thomas. Both characters are so fully fleshed out that I don't want to let them go. It is great having a new Superman type character with his flaws and foilbeles. Holly is even smarter and stronger than her comic book counter-part. I give the book 5 stars and now I'm buying the other Koontz audiobooks that have been released in 2008. Like all junkies .... I want to know where my next fix is going to come from.

Surprised

I was never a Koontz fan. I read this book when it was the only available option at the time but I was blown away at how much I enjoyed it. I may not like written fiction but this story was written brilliantly and played like a movie in my head better than anything I’d seen with my eyes. Definitely changed my opinion on fiction writing
