Worth all the Tears!

Cor Amare is the conclusion of the Luna Duet by Pepper Winters. It begins where Lunamare ends in a cliffhanger. Nerida’s parents believed they had caught Aslan raping their daughter and with Neri’s assistance Aslan had fled into the night. This was far from the end of their story, which Nerida continued to relay to the two reporters in a series of flashbacks. She told a tale of great love and great tragedy. It was a love story which transcended time, torture, and death.

I was compelled to continue reading every word due to the emotion which weaved through every page. The characters experienced great joy and even greater despair and there were times that seemed hopeless. However, the connection between the lovers was so consuming that I was helpless to do anything but power through when the story was difficult. This is one of those stories that leaves the reader feeling better for reading it. I agree with the author that this is the best work that she has ever created. It was a little too heavy on the foreshadowing, at points, it had my internal response, I get it…bad stuff is coming… but the reporters response made it all fall into place. Readers should be sure to consult the trigger warnings for this duet before reading, but if able to cope with the dark sections of the story I recommend it to all lovers of contemporary, epic love stories with large helpings of erotic passages. I am glad that I read it. It was worth all the tears I shed and more. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Valentine PR and Pepper Winters.

****addendum I listened to the audiobook, and wanted to add this my review. I continued to love this book. I had a similar reaction to this audiobook as I did to Lunamare. It is strange to have the female narrator using an American accent for a character who is Australian. The odd thing was that she did make some attempt at the Aussie accent for other characters, but not for Neri. She did an amazing job of differentiating Neri’s age. The older Neri who is telling the story is very different than the younger Neri. The male narrator was more consistent with the accent for Aussie men in this book, and Aslan wasn’t an Aussie, so it was much less weird. Overall I continued to be in love with the author, the writing, and the characters. It is a really enjoyable read that I would recommend for listeners who love dark, erotic, contemporary romance. It is well worth the listen.

Beautiful ending

Book #2 in the Luna Duet was beautifully written.

Neri and Aslan’s journey continued in this gut wrenching book. So many nerve wrecking, nail biting moments. Lots of ups and downs, but they never gave up and stayed true to their devotion. I loved the way it ended; such a beautiful farewell. This was a wonderful love story about soul mates.

Tor Thom and Fiona Clare did an amazing job again narrating.

My little heart

Oh my little heart this duet , this book was just amazing. The story of these of these two characters was so heart wrenching in spots it gutted me. I loved how Nerida never gave up hope , I Almost cried when Aslan came back. I was jumping for joy for both of these characters they have gone through so much and they were truly meant to be with one another. I could not believe Aslan went through so much and made it through when he came into his fathers grips. I just loved this duet and the narrators did an amazing job with the portrayal of these characters. A fantastic job bringing them to life.
