Publisher Description
A defiant human woman. A dark fae Prince. Two enemies bound to a marriage that could destroy their world.
Reyna was born a valuable slave to the Gold Court, imprisoned her whole life in a glittering palace by sadistic, greedy fae.
When the palace is raided, she takes her opportunity to escape. But the raid is led by her worst nightmare. The Prince of the most feared fae of all; the Shadow Court. And he wants one thing.
Her. The copper-haired, rune-marked human.
Reyna doesn’t know why the Prince has kidnapped her. But when he announces her as his betrothed, she knows that she must escape before she is eternally bound to the monster behind the mask.
Only, when he takes the mask off, he isn’t what she expects. He’s lethal, beautiful and exudes sin. And he needs her.
Drawn into a deadly world shrouded in secrets, and desperate to keep her own hidden, Reyna must find a way out. If she doesn’t, she risks more than just death. She risks giving everything to her intoxicating captor.
This is the first book in the Shadow Bound Queen series, and is inspired by Norse mythology and Vikings. Sexy fae Vikings. It has Hades and Persephone, Beauty and the Beast vibes, and is slow-burn enemies to lovers fantasy romance with a burn-the-world-down-for-her hero. The series builds in steam and is filled with magic, myth, and delicious tension.
Brides of Mist and Fae is a brand new world from Eliza Raine, unconnected to the Dark Gods of Olympus.

Prince Mazrith & Reyna
Reyna is a human thrall or slave. She is rune marked for the gold court. The rune marks are tattoos that mark her as a gold giver. A gold giver is a rare human who can craft magic staffs for the gold court. The Fae need the staffs to wield their magic. Reyna has also stood out among the humans because of her copper hair. No one else has her color hair. Her hair is very unusual.
One evening, Reyna is chosen by Lord Orm to be his bound concubine. He is the gold court’s most evil and sadistic lord. Reyna must escape the gold court. She has to be careful because of her rune marks. The other Fae courts would kill her if they found her. Lhoris and Kara are Reynas best friends and they are like family to her. She does not want to leave them but she has no choice.
The Shadow Court attacks the Gold Court. The Shadow Court Prince is supposedly the most cruel of all the Fae. This is Reyna’s chance to escape the Gold Court during the chaos of fighting. Unfortunately the Shadow Court Prince and his shadow snakes enter her room. Reyna, Lhoris, and Kara are taken by the Prince as prisoners. Why does the Shadow Prince want Reyna?
The Shadow Prince Mazrith does not get along with his evil stepmother the Queen. She wants Reyna and her friends dead. The only way he can protect her and her friends is to make Reyna his betrothed. Mazrith is scary but Reyna wonders if his reputation is true. When he removes his mask she is captivated by him. He is undeniably intense and provocative. Is he evil? He has not acted cruel. He has done everything to protect her. What is it about him that intrigues her? What does he want with Reyna? Can she really marry him?
The story was a little hard to get into at the beginning. Eventually it gets better and hooks you. Once Reyna is captured by the Shadow Prince it starts to flow quickly. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are many twists and surprising revelations. There is an undeniable connection between Mazrith and Reyna. What is Mazrith hiding? I cannot wait to find out. The ending leaves you wanting more! I cannot wait for book two. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
