A Wonderfully Delightful Story & Listen🎧
“Perfect (mis)Match” is a captivating enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine, workplace romance that will immediately grab your attention and keep you hooked. The two lead characters, Piper Doyle and Vincent Forde are complete opposites, and the first time they meet did not go over so well, each leaving an impression on the other, one good, the other not so good. And that is the not last they see of each other since Vincent is friends with her brother. And when they meet again, Vincent’s attempt to avoid his ex’s antics is how Piper became his fake girlfriend, and when other circumstances and opportunities pop up, he makes her an offer, one that is advantageous for both. I liked how Piper, a photographer, with goals and plans to start a business with a friend, stayed true to herself and did not bend to Vincent. Vincent runs a perfume company and is abrupt with his employees but is trying to be better. It was great to watch Piper and Vincent work together, the two bonked heads, but she was good at what she did and he knew that. The chemistry between them was electric, and they could only deny each other for so long. Just when everything was going well, it all blows up and Vincent’s inner demons get the best of him and he blows it. I loved all the layers of the story and how it all plays out, with a perfect balance of drama, angst, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The writing, plot, world-building, character growth, and development are all fantastic, making this book consistently entertaining.
🎧📚🎧 Abigail Reno and Christopher Ashman did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, giving each their own unique voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. I loved how they took their roles and owned them, sounding believable and just as I imagined they would sound. Reno nailed it as Piper, grasping every aspect of her personality from her witty fierceness to her strength and determination. Ashman was just as amazing in Vincent’s role, showcasing his personality and demeanor perfectly, from his grumpy side to his alpha-tude. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the side and secondary characters, too. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and a performance that keeps you glued to the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to.
