Publisher Description
When a high-ranking officer gallops into the quiet Mistyvales, he brings a warning that shakes the countryfolk to their roots. But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems. The events that follow propel Aedan on a journey that only the foolhardy or desperate would risk, leading him to the gates of the nation's royal academy - a whole world of secrets in itself.
But this is only the beginning of his discoveries. Something is stirring in the land, something more ominous than the rising threat of hostile nations. Fearful travelers whisper of an ancient power breathing over Thirna, changing it, waking it. In the very heart of these stirrings, Aedan encounters that which defies belief, leaving him speechless with terror - and wonder.
Customer Reviews
One of the best books
I have read this book to completion about 6 times and read it partially probably another 6 or more times. Johnathan Renshaw does and incredible job bringing the story to life. I have never wanted the next book to come out so badly in a series. If you are looking to buy a book you cannot go wrong getting this one!
These must be fake reviews
I listened to this book and it’s okay - but in NO WAY is it worth reading multiple times.
Pretty good narrator, and the story is decent - but I did fast forward quite a few times when it was filled with boring inner monologue fluff. I almost chose to quit the book, but slogged on to the end.
It’s a juvenile style book. Perhaps best for middle school children. But even pre-teen kids won’t want to read it multiple times.
Quite disappointing considering the reviews.
Amazing!
I have read this book probably 5 times now. I have yet to read a coming of age story as good as this! Please finish the next book!!! I know stories as good as this do not come easy.
