Characters may die, but classic murder mysteries live forever. Agatha Christie’s twisty 1937 whodunit follows brilliant Belgian detective Hercule Poirot as he departs for a much-needed vacation to Cairo. But the ship hardly leaves the dock before an unsettling tension sets in amongst the high-class guests, culminating in a brutal killing. We adore the opulent scene setting Christie sprinkles into every suspenseful chapter, but it’s her characters that truly beguile. Imitation pearls, squandered inheritances, a falling boulder, a shotgun wrapped in a velvet stole—they all have a role to play in this pitch-perfect mystery. And actor Kenneth Branagh is a joy as the narrator, delivering delightful accents for every character. Death on the Nile is a great introduction to Agatha Christie and her endearingly egotistical detective hero.

Wow
That was absolutely incredible. Christie masterfully crafts a brilliant and intriguing mystery, that keeps one guessing until the grand reveal at the end. Such excellent character building, and a plot with many twists and turns I did not expect. As always, my mouth dropped during the reveal, kept masterfully under wraps by the murderer. Fantastic, highly recommend and I cannot wait to watch the movie.
