Holly Jolly Elf meets Grinch Gordon
This is such a cute story of Holly Jolly and Gordon Gills. Each of the chapters has a line from Deck the Halls which is a unique way to title the chapters. Holly lives in Christmas Creek and her business and the rest of the town is dependent on the Christmas festival. Gordon has inherited the mansion that is the center of the festival. He doesn't like Christmas or anything to do with it until he meets Holly. His goal is to turn her against Christmas so he can build condos instead of Christmas themed stores. Love has a way to turn even the "Grinchiest" person's heart. Another wonderful story from Rachelle Ayala and great narration from Kate Marcin. I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review. You can't miss this Christmas themed story that will get you in the Christmas spirit whatever time of year you listen to it.
Unique Holiday Fun and Spirit
What did you love best about Deck the Hearts?
I loved the quirkiness of each amazing character. They lived like how they wanted their life to be and how they wanted others to see things and not as they were. Refusing to be yet another pessimist, they breathed hope and joy into the lives of all they touched. There is good, and hope, and love in this world, and that is what they wanted to shine and amplify to the those they came in contact with.
What other book might you compare Deck the Hearts to and why?
I would compare this to Ayala's Christmas Flirt book book as they are both light hearted, fun stories, but they also strongly spoke speak to the heart. It was filled with mishaps and unintentional consequences, but it was first and foremost filled with pure love and boundless hope. Both had strong and sassy leading ladies that took life by the ear and told it how they were going to live, and they never backed down from what they wanted. They unashamedly gave their hearts to the one they loved and refused to take it back. They fought for their heart and the man who captured their love no matter the consequences and in spite of everything that blocked their way.
What about Kate Marcin’s performance did you like?
I loved Kate Marcin's light and lovely voice that brought these precious characters to life in a new and vibrant way! She light up my heart as she presented this heart warming and lovely story in a brilliant and breathtaking way.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed so many times throughout this story that I lost count, and yes a few tears did follow those ringing bouts of happiness. It was a story full of heart and the beautiful Christmas spirit. This is a story to be treasured and savored!

I can't wait to see what the next story in this series comes out! This family is so contagious in their love, laughter, and life.
