This book starts off with an enemies-to-lovers bang and sparks fly. Trent and Natasha’s clash gets her fired from her job, but now Trent needs something from her: He wants to surprise his grandmother with furniture from her favorite custom designer. And guess who that would be? You got it! Now they are working together and can’t deny their attraction for long. Even though he was an Alpha-hole in the beginning Trent warmed my heart with his love of his grandmother and support he showed his younger brother. Trent has serious trust issues with women who always seem to want something from him and that jaded view is a thorn between him and Natasha. But boy oh boy, was that some great graveling at the end. I loved it. Leslie North’s writing had me choked up in several scenes and the explosive one ripped my heart out.

Both of these narrators are new to me so I was excited for this listen. Chloe Ryan narrates for Natasha and I loved her male voice. She brought the emotion for the frustration and heartache that Natasha felt. Sebastian Grove nailed Trent and the different voices, especially his grandmother. He really captured the emotional turmoil that both Natasha and Trent went through.

It is great to be back in Leslie North’s “Manhattan Bossholes” world again for another wonderful romance novel featuring another grumpy billionaire boss, Trent Sanders. Natasha is a furniture designer just getting her business off the ground and works at a coffee shop to make ends meet. When a rude customer ignores her warnings, she tells him off to put him in his place, which her boss overhears and fires her. In an odd twist of faith, that same rude customer, Trent Saunders, comes to her to design a few pieces of furniture pieces for his grandmother. Needing the money she is not in a position to say no, and she is ecstatic to learn his grandmother, his Nana Dee, is a furniture designer and her idol. She travels with Trent to his Nana’s home, and when they get there, Nana thinks they are a couple, and it is the first time Trent has seen her smile in a while, so he wants Natasha to go along with it. She agrees to play along within reason, and she lands a job at his company, the family’s furniture business, for her efforts. It was fun to watch Trent and Natasha’s brilliant and equally matched witty exchanges. It was great watching them get to know each other and see their relationship morph into something more. When conflict arises with his parents, he blows it and loses the best thing that happened in his life, Natasha. There is never a dull moment in this book, and the story has a perfect balance of drama, angst, humor, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. It was great to see characters from the first two books, Trent’s found family, love the camaraderie amongst them, also loved his relationship with his brother by blood, too. Leslie North, thanks for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Chloe Ryan and Sebastian Grove were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting and was believable in every role. Both nailed it as the two leads, grasping every aspect of their character’s personality and demeanor perfectly. Ryan was a natural as Natasha, handling her witty dialogue with ease and Grove was just as fabulous in Trent’s role, grumpy alpha-tude and all. Their tone and pacing is just right for the story, and they captured all the characters’ emotions, having you feeling them all. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.
