OG Diablo—Dark, and satisfying for fans
I loved this book! The only criticism I have is that the main character was voiced like a complete stooge, and when he yells it’s as if the narrator is trying not to wake up his wife and kids.
I went into this recalling failing to read it as a teen, and at first feared the slow, steady introduction of characters, but the dark Diablo atmosphere creeping in was unmistakable and held me. As things later began to pop-off I had a grind spread across my face as I realized I was indeed reading a great Diablo tale. =) OG Fans of Diablo, or dark high-fantasy shan’t be disappointed. This is no modern written-for-illiterate-masses work of laziness.
As a younger teen that thoroughly fell into the gripping darkness of Diablo 1 and the loot addiction found in Diablo 2… I tried to read this paperback and failed out of immaturity. Now as an adult, and this high-quality audio book… I am glad I gave it another try!
