Publisher Description
The bestselling novel featuring the “wonderfully epic hero” (People) who inspired the hit film Jack Reacher.
Jack Reacher is an innocent bystander when he witnesses a woman being kidnapped off a Chicago street in broad daylight. In the wrong place at the wrong time, he’s kidnapped with her. Chained together, locked in the back of a stifling van, and racing across America to an unknown destination for an unknown purpose, they’re at the mercy of a group of men demanding an impossible ransom. Because this mysterious woman is worth more than Reacher ever suspected. Now he has to save them both—from the inside out—or die trying.

Great book and high octane thriller
This should have been the book that the first Jack Reacher book should’ve been based off of. It introduces the character so much better and has the right mix of mystery, action and intrigue that would have set things up well for future films. While Tom Cruise is not the ideal pick for the role, using him in this story would have worked nonetheless. I found it to be enjoyable and highly recommend it as an important book in the Jack Reacher saga.
The voice actor is terrible
The narrator is ok but when the voice actor tries to do other characters it’s like nails on a chalkboard. Not sure I will make it through the whole book and I’m a huge Reacher fan.
Great concept. Poor execution
This reader was better than the first. That’s all I have about that.
I feel as if you’re going to write about something. Research and gain knowledge about the subject.
The author did a few wiki searches on firearms. (Me, being a semi-moderate knowledgeable gun guy.) The author doesn’t know anything but a few names. The first book was cringy when it came to them. This book was slightly better but only slightly. In a book that involves a lot of firearms. He barely got anything right.
The only other complaint I have is, during the dialogue sections. There is no reason to say ok and right, way too many times.
Sadly, this is my last reacher book.
