Publisher Description

To avoid being sent across an ocean, Grace switches places with her sister. The only man aware of their deception? A dear friend, and her secret love.

Grace Everly has no desire to set sail for the Caribbean, unlike her adventurous twin sister, Hope. Thanks to her sister’s irresponsible behavior and subsequent banning from the journey, Grace’s father decides to send her in Hope’s place. Desperate to remain where things are familiar, Grace proposes an unthinkable plan: that she and Hope switch places. They only have to keep up the act long enough for Hope to board a ship in London. When the man who has stolen Grace’s heart learns of their secret, things get more complicated.

Jacob Barnes, soon to be ordained a vicar, has known Grace and Hope his whole life. Though close to both sisters, he’s dreamed of courting Hope for months. When he realizes his friends have switched places, putting the woman he admires out of his reach, he agrees to help with the subterfuge despite his bruised heart. As he watches Grace stumble in her acting abilities, attempting to change who she is, he realizes how much she means to him. But how does he tell her, without risking their friendship?

The deception puts their relationship to the test. As Grace hides her heart and her identity, Jacob examines his feelings, and no one in their community will be happy when the truth is discovered.

This is the second book in the Inglewood series and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone sweet Regency romance.

Great read!

I enjoyed this book! I absolutely loved the first in this series and I really enjoyed this second one. The characters were good. I liked the story overall. It held my interest. The only thing I would have liked better is to see more characters from book one. But still a great read! And the audiobook is great! Fantastic narrator!

Clean!

Sweet Clean Regency Romance

Grace and Hope are identical twins. After a carriage accident that was Hope's fault, their father decides to send Grace on a year-long trip with friends and keep Hope at home as punishment. Grace is scared to leave all she knows and travel for a year, so she decides to switch places with Hope. Jacob is about to become the vicar. He goes to visit Hope, but he realizes it's not Hope at all but Grace. As Grace and Jacob spend time together, their feelings surface. Jacob isn't sure Grace will make a good vicar's wife because of her deceit.

I loved this book. I loved seeing Grace and Hope's dynamic. They are so different, yet very close to each other. I also loved seeing Grace and Jacob's friendship blossom into love. I think my favorite part was when Grace stood up to her father. I think it took his ultimatum for Grace to speak up for herself and go after what she wants.

A charming friends to lovers story

The second book in the Inglewood series doesn’t disappoint! The Everly sisters, Grace and Hope, when faced with the prospect of their father’s decree, make a desperate choice. Being twins, they are always confused for one another, so could it work to have them change identities?
Grace, who longs to stay home where it’s familiar has been told she must travel to the West Indies while Hope, who longs for adventure has been told she must remain at home. They only need to keep up the ruse for two weeks until the ship is safely away at sea.
Everything is working as planned, but neither sister counted on Jacob, who has been their friend since childhood. Jacob, who secretly admires Hope, is relieved to find that she will not be leaving for an extended trip. What will he do once he realizes that the sister he’s visiting at home is Grace, rather than Hope? More importantly, what will he do when he begins to realize that the admiration he feels for Hope pales when compared to his growing feelings for her sister? What happens when Grace’s deception is made public?
I have both read the ebook and listened to the audiobook of this story. The audio version uses the same narrator as the first book in the series, which I was happy to see. She has a very soothing voice with a lovely tone. Characters are easy to distinguish, and the reading speed is perfect.
This clean, sweet, book is part of a series and while I highly recommend reading the series in order, it is a stand alone story with it’s own happy ending.
