Distance Audiobook CRINGE
I was TikTok influenced to get this book, and maybe it would have been good if I’d just read it instead of listen to it. However, I’m coming off a string of amazing smutty audiobooks and was hoping to keep the trend going. If you listen to smut long enough, you know that eventually you get one that makes you roll your eyes, but this one takes the cake. I don’t understand why the publishing company spends the money for both a female and male voice only to not use them outside of their respective chapters. The female narration was ugh, but her narration of the make character was UGH. It was like everything he said was in all caps. I know he’s supposed to be brooding and tough, but there was never a tender moment. If he was making a smoothie, it HAD SPINACH AND FRUIT. If he was caressing her face SHE WAS A GODESS. Like, bring it down, guy. Why are you yelling? The male narrator was fine on the male parts, but when he tried to mimic the female’s British accent…🙄. I honestly couldn’t tell you if the plot line was cringy because of a cheesy plot or just gross narration. I know not everyone can be Joe Arden, but it’s like they’re not even trying. We definitely need more members of SAG-AFTRA reading these books 😂. After this one, I’m gonna take a break from audios and stick to the voices in my head.
