Tom Baker reprises the role of the Fourth Doctor in the first of five thrilling, brand-new audio adventures, with Richard Franklin as Mike Yates.

'Wanted: retired army Captain for light household duties and fireside companionship. Must tolerate mild eccentricity and strong scientific advice. Knowledge of Giant Maggots, Super Intelligent Spiders and Prehistoric Monsters a positive boon.'

Responding to an advert apparently worded for him alone, Captain Mike Yates (retired) is reunited with a ghost from the past. But why has the Doctor, that mysterious traveller in Time and Space, sent for his former UNIT acquaintance? Trapped by a horde of vicious creatures in an apparently innocuous English country cottage, the two old friends are on the brink of an enormous adventure.

As the Doctor relates his recent escapades, it becomes clear to Mike that they - and the Earth at large - are facing an enemy of unimaginable power and horrific intent. The nightmare is only just beginning....

With Susan Jameson as Mrs Wibbsey and Daniel Hill as Percy Noggins.

Great New Doctor Who!

It's a great story, both creepy and fun in classic Whovian style. It is presented in a cross between audiobook and radio drama with a few voice actors but not a full cast. I actually got shivers when I heard Tom Bakers' voice a playing the Doctor once again! $10 is steep, but if you love Doctor Who it is totally worth it.

$50 to hear the adventure?

I love the Fourth Doctor. But I don't know if I can bring myself to commit to $50 to hear all 5 parts -- even if it is five hours worth of original Tom Baker! That being said, glad they made it.

My Doctor Is Back!

Thoroughly enjoyable, but not quite what I expected. I thought this would be more along the lines of the Big Finish audio stories (which are like old-fashioned radio shows). Instead, it's really more like an audiobook with additional voices performing some of the dialogue. Still, I enjoyed it a great deal and am thrilled to have Tom Baker playing the Doctor again, even if it's only for a 5-story audio series.
