Don Quixote is the classic story. Called the first modern novel, this marvelous book has stood the test of time to become irrevocably intertwined with the fabric of society. Sixteenth-century Spanish gentleman Don Quixote, fed by his own delusional fantasies, takes to the road in search of chivalrous adventures. But his quest leads to more trouble than triumph. At once humorous, romantic, and sad, Don Quixote is a literary landmark. This fresh edition, by award-winning translator Edith Grossman, brings the tale to life as never before.

Terrific reader brings it to life
Engaging and dynamic translation combined with truly outstanding reading/narration that really brings it to life. Makes this “long read” truly enjoyable.
Great Book/Audio Error
I have to read this for a class, and I was expecting it to be difficult to follow, but it is wildly entertaining!! However, there’s a glitch at 2:21:56 where the audio cuts out and skips ahead. If I didn’t have the physical version as well, I would have no idea what it said. That’s likely a problem with Apple Books or whoever produced the audiobook, though, and it has nothing to do with the book itself. Love it so far! Very nice to listen to while walking around and driving.
