The second part of the Outlander series from Diana Gabaldon that explores the power of a love which transcends space and time. A magnificent epic that once again sweeps us back in time to the drama and passion of 18th-century Scotland...
For twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland's majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones ...about a love that transcends the boundaries of time ...and about James Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his ....
Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful copper-haired daughter, Brianna, as Claire's spellbinding journey of self-discovery continues in the intrigue-ridden Paris court of Charles Stuart ...in a race to thwart a doomed Highlands uprising ...and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves.
Best adult fiction!
As always, Diana Gabaldon is Story Telling Perfection. The crowning jewel to her writing is Davina Porter's reading of it. Theses books are completely addicting; just please remember they are definetely ADULT books! Very graphic in love, sex, war, language, etc. Amazingly rich and compelling, the depth of characters and story lines leaves the reader with a sense that Jamie, Claire and the rest are personally known! You will not be disappointed.
Dragonfly In Amber
Davina Porter is a phenomenal narrator!! The series is a faboulous read but having such a skillful and consistant narrator makes them truly come alive. Now we just need her to do an unabridged rendition of Fiery Cross, I want nothing to do with the copy now available. I am downloading Voyager now, can't wait!
Dragonfly in Amber
Is an amazing continuation of Gabaldon's first book Outlanders! Diana Porter who reads the audio version has done a great job in staying true to all the different accents! Couldn't put the book down, I'm officially hooked on the series.
